Gender Equity Research
Female-identifying business students face a range of challenges: lack of representation and access to resources, confusion as to how to report concerns, gender stereotypes, and more.
As the University of Oregon continues to strive for diversity, equity and inclusion, this research provides evidence of pain points and targeted recommendations.
THE BRIEF
The University of Oregon Lundquist College of Business has been largely successful in recruiting and retaining women in faculty and administrative leadership positions while struggling to do the same for female-identifying students. Why is this?
THE SOLUTION
Research on the experience of female-identifying business students was gathered by two female students: myself, and one undergraduate business student. The research in its entirety is available by request and contains over 40 interviews.
Research findings are organized via themes, with direct quotes to provide context. Minor details were changed for brevity and to protect the identities of the interviewees.
